OUR BANGLADESH

Right after its establishment the club has organized "Independent Day cycling" at 26th March. Covering 10 miles of total track around the Suhrawardi Garden,Tareeq syeed of the club becomes Champion. On 2nd April the club has organized another "Open Cycling Race" of 30 Kilometers track. Jahid Chowdhury sumon & Tareeq Syeed from the club finished 2ed & 3rd. "Bangladesh Parjatan (Tourism) corporation and "Bangladesh Cycling Federation" has jointly organized a cycling event on occasion of "Tourism Month". The event taken place in the Manik Miah Avenue on 22nd October. In 12 Kilometers event Mohammad Zahid Chowdhury Sumon. Mohammad Zakaria Habib and Shah Alam Tusher came 1st, 2nd & 3rd. In the event of 4 kilometers "School Cycling" Mohammad Tareek Syeed,Mohammad Nasiruddin Ratan and Aslam came 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Here to mention that all those athletes won medals were from the : DHAKA CYCLING CLUB. on 29th October Bangladesh Cycling Federation has organized "junior Cycling federation has organized" junior Cycling Competition" around Suhrawardi Garden. in the event of 20 kilometers Tareeq Syeed and Mohammad Aslam came 2nd & 3rd while in 10 kilometers event all 1st, 2ed & 3rd place won by the anis, Syed Asaduzzaman and Lucky of the club.

On 26th june of 1993 Bangladesh Drugs Control Bureau organize a cycle rally to campaign against drugs jointly with Dhaka Cycling club. This was the "Anti Drugs Day" and the rally circled the various point of the town with Anti-Drugs jingle. On the 4th October 1993 the "Rehabilitation and Development Organization for Landless (RADOL)" assisted Dhaka Cycling
Club to organize a cycle rally to commemorate the "world habitat Day". the rally started from the yard of National Parliament Building and touching the Children Park of Shabagh it finished at Osmani Garden of Gulishtan. The chief guest of this event was Ministers of Bangladesh Government Barrister Abdus Salam and Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah. The officers Staffs of Radod & more the 1000 Cyclists from the club take part on this rally. To celebrate the advancement of Bangladesh National Team in the main round of the World cup Cricket the club organized a "Junior Cricket Tournament". Sixteen teams have participated in this tournament started at 10th September. Renowned cricketer Minabhjul Abedin Nannu inaugurates the opening ceremony. The tournament ends at 19th November when Shahid kishore Sangha beat Lalbag Boys Club yb 56 runs. The parliamentarian Mr. Haji Md. Salim distributed prize among the players After final. More on 3rd December of 1999 the club arranged a cycle rally demanding a "Drug-Free World" A total 121 cyclist from the club was in the rally and circled various important point of the town. Mr Aafar imam of Bangladesh Olympic Association was present of inaugurate the event. It was "World Car-Free Day" at 20th September of 2002 and like many other countries we have also celebrate this day in our own way. the club members also arranged a cycle-rally on this occasion. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the club we distribute warm clothes among the poor who were affected the winter in December of 2003. With a call to protect the youth from the deadly shadow of Drug abuse & lethal AIDS "international Youth Day" was observed. The club jointly organized a cycle-rally with handful of other non-governmental organization. The club has established a permanent "Dental Camp" in the Jagannath saha Road of Lalbagh. every thursday poor suffering from dental problem get free medication by Dr. Mahmudur Rahman.
